How to make a ground plane antenna | 140 MHZ to 150 MHZ | designed to receive and transmit on these frequencies.
Designed for transmission and reception in populated areas with an omni-directional signal pattern, it is the most suitable for you.
Where transmission and reception is extremely important if you are located in the center of a town or in the city.

Construction ground plane antenna | 140 MHZ to 150 MHZ |
First, build the support for the antenna .
- It is made of 1/8 ” thick aluminum.
- plate cut to 2 ” x 5 ”. Drill a hole in the board large enough to fit the SO-239 VHF Connector to insert (about 5/8 ” or 15.8mm).
- Drill the hole at the point about 1/8 “to fix the connector.
- Also make 8 holes to place the radials of the antenna (see Figure 1.1 and 1.2).
After performing these steps, the aluminum plate will remain in this shape.
Radial ground plane antenna manufacturing
Cut four aluminum tubes to a length of 20 “each and drill two holes (1/8” in diameter)
Bend the aluminum tubes at a 45 degree angle, at the point 1 inch apart for the end with two holes. (See figure 1.3)
Finally make the main dipole which will be to take a 1/8 ” x 20 ” copper rod to solder directly on the connector.
